Our streets, our space

London’s first Open Streets event comes to Great Suffolk St on Saturday May 30th. You can read the announcement here.

The team is busy working with local residents and businesses to organise a variety of activities that make the event exciting and fun. “Made in Southwark” means attracting as many local enterprises as possible to showcase the best of the borough and give a local flavour to the event which can be used as a model elsewhere. At its heart, Open Streets is about community and each event can provide a space for people to display what they are doing elsewhere in the area.

Drawing from number of local themes, we have created some really exciting partnerships with innovative organisations. Here’s some of what’s going on:
