FAQ

When is Open Streets in Southwark?

Subject to last minute road or rail works, London’s first Open Streets will ‘open’ at 11:00 on Saturday May 30th 2015.

How much is entry to the event?

Open Streets events are free.

How do I get there?

Great Suffolk St lies close to the South Bank between several tube stops including Borough, London Bridge and Southwark. It is also an easy walk from the rail stations at Waterloo and Blackfriars. Better still, come by bike, roller blade, rickshaw, horse, anything without a motor! See our new flyer here for walking distances and an event map. The post code is SE1 0LR.

I have a fantastic idea. How do I get in touch?

We would love to hear your suggestions for animating the streets, Click here and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

Is the event suitable for small children?

Yes. Open Streets events provide a safe, fun, relaxed and family friendly environment and the wide variety of street activities will inspire and delight youngsters of all ages.

Can I ride my bike?

Of course! But remember that you’ll be sharing the road with walkers of all ages and abilities, roller bladers, prams, buggies – so don’t expect to time trial. Better to slow down, breathe, hang out and enjoy the new quiet of Southwark’s streets.

I live nearby. How can I catch my bus?

The Great Suffolk St route will have no impact on buses, trains or tubes.
